Lazarian World Homes

In the summer of 2007, twenty college students from three US universities (USC, Baylor and Point Loma) built two foam model homes that launched the AGM’s low cost housing program in Armenia.

By the end of 2008, ARDA had completed 16 additional “Lazarian World Home”. Each year a new set of homes have been built, bringing the grand total of homes to 52. Fifty two families have moved out of the metal freight containers they were previously living in and into brand new safe homes. In 2009, a community center was also built in the Vanadzor area to meet the needs of the residents in the area. The community center is a place where residents can gather and fellowship tgether.

These homes have proven standards of efficiency and structural integrity that can be delivered at affordable prices. These low cost homes are cool in the hot Armenian summer and require little heat in cold weather. The standard home has two bedroom, bath, kitchen and living room.

These homes are being provided for families currently living in metal freight containers called “domik”s.
